To set the record straight, Mother & I found a 5th almost empty when we cleaned Grandma's cupboard. My mom told me this Christmas season that my Grandma Kuch used to make eggnog for my Grandpa, nearly EVERY day! And, though my mom knew that growing up, she didn't know that Grandma had a little brown jug stashed in the kitchen somewhere and apparently was adding alcohol to the nog. Rum I'm assuming, but who knows. This fact is near shocking to me! Sadly, I never really knew my grandparents as people and wish I had more memories of them. I love hearing little gems like this!

Today my husband compared our baby to a loud and demanding drunk. Mason will sit in his high chair at dinner and point. He's pointing at: the oven, the fridge, the counter. Who knows? And babbling in a very demanding fashion. Sometimes it's obvious what he wants, yesterday it was more mac and cheese. Sometimes, it's impossible to figure out and he's very persistent about it. "Bartender! Get me another beer!!"

Hayden still is not interested in walking at 13 months... but when he doesn't realize what he's doing he sometimes forgets to crawl. On Sunday he let go of my knees and stood there long enough for me to tell Sal to have a look what he was doing, and then he took about 4 little stutter steps toward her and then a few bigger ones before stepping on a box and grabbing for her knees.
